Beyond Bank has been awarded a $20,000 Assess-Implement-Monitor (AIM) grant from Green Industries SA to build our capacity to improve waste management practices.

Funding will be used to develop a team of "waste champions" and build tools to help improve waste management practices, with the ultimate goal of reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

The waste champions will be trained in how to conduct a waste audit so that we can measure our emissions from waste with more accuracy, set clear waste reduction targets and fully utilise the circular economy principles within our operations.

“As a Certified B Corp, Beyond Bank cares about our impact on all our stakeholders, including the environment,” said Brooke Avory, Sustainability Manager at Beyond Bank.

“One of the key outcomes we hope to achieve is improved accuracy and reliability of our waste data and collection methodology to support our climate-related disclosures and B Corp Certification,” said Brooke.

The grant will also help Beyond Bank to build tools and resources to become self-sufficient in conducting waste audits and to uplift staff knowledge, so we can embed a culture of responsible waste management and connect our people to our purpose and values as a B Corp.

Green Industries SA supports the development of the circular economy through collaborations and partnerships which improve productivity, resilience, resource efficiency and the environment. Find out more about them and the projects they fund.
